Last September I went along to my first custom motorcycle show in some time: Kickback at Donington Park. It was a superb event and a great day out: I blogged about it and posted numerous pictures here.
I was delighted to discover that Kickback run more than one event in the year; they had another this weekend at Stoneleigh Park near Coventry. I therefore went along today and once again had a fantastic time.
There were some bikes that we’d seen last time, but plenty of new stuff – and even the bikes we’d seen before were well worth re-visiting. There were some well established custom builders showing off their craft as well as a variety of shed-built bikes.
Alongside all of this were a range of stands selling all manner of bike related stuff from custom parts to t-shirts, jewellery to insurance, and once again there was an excellent stunt show. As before the event was nicely small, friendly and intimate.
If you haven’t been before I highly recommend that you seek them out: they’ll be back at Donington on the 19-20 September, and before that they are coming even closer to home with the Cheltenham Festival of Bikes at Cheltenham Town Hall on 23 August, which from the flyer seems to be more of a custom and classic show rather than pure custom.
Meanwhile, here’s a load more photos from today’s show.
