The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 5,700 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 10 years to get that many views.
Strange analogies they come up with…
Still, comparing with last year things seem to be picking up: 5700 views vs. 3700; 48 posts vs. 37; 748 pictures vs. 86 – a big leap that, largely down to the many posts on my cruise holiday that I finally got around to blogging from the year before. The day with the most views was 321, another big jump from 66 the previous year, but this was largely due to relatively few people looking at a large number of photos, each of which seemed to count as a ‘hit’. That feels like cheating!
Overall, the stats therefore suggest that my blog largely remains a ‘hidden gem’ – i.e. nobody reads it. Nonetheless I enjoy writing it so I will continue – please feel free to encourage others to find it!
Meanwhile, as one of my treasured few readers, have a very happy and healthy 2013!
