Celebrating CAMRA’s 40th Birthday in Gloucester

CAMRA 40 logoLast month in my aptly titled blog, Happy 40th Birthday CAMRA, I highlighted the fact that CAMRA will be 40 years old on Wednesday 16th March 2011.

At that time plans were afoot to celebrate the occasion, but apart from the fact that it would be at the New Inn in Northgate Street, the Gloucester sub-branch of CAMRA had not yet finalised details – now they have.

Mark Cooke, landlord at the New Inn and CAMRA supporter, has arranged to lay on a mini beer festival, upping the already impressive number of ales to about a dozen or so. There will also be music provided by an excellent Irish duo the Honey Badgers and a barbeque.

Festivities start at 7pm. You don’t have to be a CAMRA member to come along and help celebrate, but if you’re not this would be an excellent opportunity to join.

Hopefully see you there!
